Business Intelligence Team Supervisor

General Description

This position is the point of contact responsible for elevated customer issues and internal requests. It is synonymous with final-stop of support and advanced level technical support functions. The first job of this position is to support the teams in their day to day tasks and delegate incoming work, as well as assigning tasks to themselves.

Once identification of the underlying problem is established, the position can begin assisting/proceeding with the possible solutions available. This group typically handles in-depth and complex problems (i.e.: data investigations, reading application logs to determine failure root cause, etc.). Personnel at this level have an understanding of the product or service, and aim to solve all issues or provide a viable work around. There is no escalation path after this team. This job will need a general understanding of aerospace, maintenance engines/aircraft, or configuration management.

·         Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the operations center or other teams

·         SQL SME for both internal and external requests

·         Lead & train a team of 2-3 employees

·         Manage 2 additional small application teams

·         Perform complex data analysis with detailed info and potential solution, if needed

·         Test/QA solutions

·         Create on-demand ADHOC reports

·         Create efficient solutions, utilizing proper version controls and logging

·         Document step by step instructions of problems worked on

·         Provide support outside normal business, if needed

·         Some database management will be required

·         Use of SQL in Windows Batch would be helpful

·         Other duties may be added and/or assigned as needed

Position Requirements

·         4 year college degree is required (BA, BS)

·         Must be willing and able to pass a background investigation and drug screening

·         Must pass P&W Legal Check

Formal Education & Certifications
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering, or other related field

Knowledge and Experience
Nice to have some experience working in aerospace, configuration management, or engine maintenance
Experience working in a 24/7 environment
High proficiency in data analytics including advanced Excel formulas, pivot charts, and VBA macros.  Ideally candidate would have experience with tools such as Power BI, QlikView, Hadoop, R Studio, JasperReports APEX etc…
Expert skills in SQL scripting including experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server and MS Access RDBMS.  Highly proficient in PL/SQL, Transact SQL and Access VBA macros.
Proficient in Windows batch scripting, including power shell. Python and/or R scripting would be a plus.
Proficient in leading a team of workers

Work Conditions
·         40-hour on-site work week with on-call availability for 5-10 days per month

·         Some travel may be required

·         Sitting for extended periods of time

·         Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components
